Sometimes, you have to be a little delusional before reality catches up with you.
If you only live by what your current reality tells you, you’ll never go beyond it. Reality has a way of convincing you that where you are is where you’ll always be. It reminds you of your background, your failures, your bank account, your qualifications, and everything you don’t have. If you’re not careful, you’ll start believing that’s all there is.
But vision works differently.
Vision allows you to see tomorrow before it arrives. It makes you prepare for opportunities you don’t have yet. It pushes you to become the kind of person your future will need, even before that future exists.
I find myself thinking about places I’ve never been, conversations I haven’t had, and goals that, to someone else, might sound unrealistic. Not because I’m ignoring reality, but because I don’t believe today gets to decide the rest of my life.
Most people call it being unrealistic. Sometimes they’ll even call you delusional.
Maybe that’s the price of seeing something other people can’t see yet.
The truth is, every new chapter starts as an idea. Every business, every invention, every career, every dream was once just a thought in someone’s mind before it became something real.
I’m not saying reality doesn’t matter. It does. But I also don’t think it deserves the final word.
