Life In Between the Days

Over the years, my life has taken a turn I never quite expected.

I work alongside colleagues twice my age, some already retired. We exchange ideas as if we’re agemates, while still giving each other the respect we deserve. At the same time, I listen to children as young as six years old confidently tell me what to do, and honestly sometimes, they make surprisingly good points.

On the other hand, many of my agemates seem locked in a competition to prove who’s winning more at life, who gets ahead first, and who reaches the next milestone before everyone else. Meanwhile, I’m simply trying to live life one day at a time. Some seem to have it all figured out, while others are hanging on by a loose thread. And some…… their life is in between the days.

Along the way, I’m learning how to love through the difficulties that arise, how to appreciate the people who stay, and how to keep moving when life doesn’t go according to plan.

Somewhere along the way, age has became just a number. Titles have lost their weight, and every person has became someone worth learning from, from the young to the old. Wisdom is no longer a status quo or years alone; sometimes it comes from a retired colleague, and other times from a child with an honest observation.

It’s been a strange phase of life, one filled with unexpected lessons but constant growth. But if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s this:

I’m growing through it, and I’m making the most of it. No matter how winding the road becomes, I believe it always ends with me becoming the person I promised myself I would be.

How has your life been in between the days?
